Penn State Mont Alto Student Veterans Association to host Veterans Day ceremony

MONT ALTO, Pa. ― The Penn State Mont Alto Student Veterans Association (SVA) will host a Veterans Day ceremony beginning at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at the Veterans Memorial in front of Conklin Hall. Chief Master Sgt. William A. Lengner, superintendent of the 193rd Special Operations Group Middletown, will be the featured speaker. Grayson Whistler, SVA president and Air Force National Guard member, will host the event. The public is invited to join the campus community in honoring the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in the military.

Lengner provides leadership and management in the organizing, training and equipping of more than 175 aircrew and support personnel. He coordinates with all base agencies to ensure a mission-ready force for the seamless execution of domestic and overseas flying operations. Prior to his current position, Lengner served as the flight training unit superintendent at the 745th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field in Florida.

Lengner joined the Air Force in 1982 and has served the Pennsylvania Air National Guard since 1995. From 2005 to 2010, he served with the J39 Information Operations staff at U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. During that time, he was deployed in support of operations Joint Guard, Desert Thunder, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom.
