Penn State Mont Alto's men's basketball team avenged an earlier season loss to Williamson by closing Wednesday night's game (Jan. 25) on a 13-2 run to a 66-56 victory.
During spring 2017, the Penn State Mont Alto Diversity Committee will host events to create an awareness that people are different and to develop understanding and appreciation for such differences. The events are designed to bring diversity and culture to the Mont Alto campus and give the campus community an opportunity to participate in the events.
On Feb. 15, 2017, Penn State Mont Alto will offer the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) in the auditorium of the General Studies building beginning at 9 a.m.
Soul Steps will showcase the African-American dance tradition known as "stepping" at Penn State Mont Alto on Feb. 7 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the General Studies Auditorium. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Penn State Mont Alto will host a Colloquy Series talk from 12:20 to 1:10 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the Heritage Room of The Millstream Café. Michael (Max) Bramel, Penn State Mont Alto professor in psychology, will present “Finding Our Way Out of Social Dilemmas.” The talk is free and open to the public.
On Feb. 23, Penn State Mont Alto will host an “Evening Talk and Star Party,” when Kimberly Herrmann, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, presents “The Great American Solar Eclipse" from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. in the General Studies Auditorium. A star party will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
Four Penn State Mont Alto student dancers and 85 supporters participated in THON 2017, held Feb. 17-19 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, resulting in a total of more than $44,253 for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.
On Feb. 25, about 70 Penn Staters and supporters gathered at Jan Zell Wines in Chambersburg, Pa., for a Penn State Wine Tasting Party, sponsored the Franklin County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association.
Marissa Bubbenmoyer enjoys helping older adults and singing. At Penn State Mont Alto she is doing both through the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) program and as a member of the Penn State Mont Alto Student Chorale.
The Penn State Mont Alto Office of Admissions will host its spring open house for prospective students and their families from 1 to 4:30 p.m. April 1 in the Multipurpose Activities Center on campus. During the event, students and families will receive information about the programs and opportunities at Penn State and Penn State Mont Alto.
