Cyber security is more important than ever, with government and private sector networks being exploited at an unprecedented scale. As these threats grow, the cyber workforce needs to understand and protect the critical components upon which the economy, government, and national security are built.
The Cyber Security certificate program provides students with a foundational knowledge of vital cyber aspects, including operations, laws, and policies.
Program Scope and Sequence
The Cyber Security certificate comprises three required courses; the first two courses must be taken consecutively; a certificate will be awarded upon completion.
Who Should Attend
This program will be beneficial to professionals working in the cyber realm who want to expand their knowledge, as well as individuals interested in transitioning to a cyber-related position.
Students should understand the roles of the three branches of the United States government and basic Constitutional concepts. Knowledge of networks is also helpful.
Students who complete the program will have a deeper understanding of cyber operations, laws, and policies. The program will also help prepare students to sit for the Certified Information Systems Security Professions (CISSP) exam.
Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded based on a standard of one unit per ten (10) hours of classroom contact.
Note: The University reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.
