MONT ALTO, Pa. — Penn State Mont Alto Student Government Association President Nicole Nygard joined more than 150 Penn State students, faculty, staff and alumni March 22 in Harrisburg for Penn State Capital Day.

During the morning, Nygard met with legislators to deliver a broad message of support for Penn State, speaking with Chad Reichard, legislative director for state Sen. Richard Alloway, and Rep. Paul Schemel. She also participated in a Penn State rally in the Capitol rotunda and, throughout the day, had the opportunity to meet and speak with other Penn State Student Government Association representatives from across the Commonwealth.

“It was an honor to have such an amazing opportunity to meet with legislators and to know that they support Penn State,” said Nygard.

“Capital Day is truly special because people come from all over Pennsylvania to show how much we love and care about our unversity. It’s amazing what we can all do together as Penn State students and alumni,” she said.

The event was organized by the Penn State Grassroots Network, a legislative education and advocacy program of the Penn State Alumni Association that supports Penn State.
