Welcome Days Fall 2025
Welcome Days are scheduled for Saturday, August 23 through Friday, September 5. During the fall welcome days program, new students will make connections with the people and programs that make the Mont Alto campus a community. You’ll learn more about getting involved with student clubs and organizations, our campus history and traditions, the resources and services available, and community service and volunteer opportunities. This all kicks off on Saturday, August 23. The welcome week schedule and additional welcome week events will be announced soon. In the event of program changes, Student Affairs will reach out to impacted students and departments.
Student-athletes and new students enrolled in special programs may be required to attend additional meetings, activities, and practices.

Saturday, August 23
Leave of Absence Deadline
The Mill is open extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: First-year residence hall check in, Mont Alto Hall and Penn Gate
3 to 4:45 p.m.: First-year Commuter Student Welcome, Starts in General Studies Building 105, Auditorium (students only) 4:15 to 4:45 p.m.: I Survived Move-In: Session for Parents and Guests, WSC (Wiestling Student Center) (parents and family only)
4:15 to 4:45 p.m.: First-year Residential Student Welcome, Mont Alto Hall Lobby
7:30 p.m.: New Student Welcome Party (Fire Pit and Smores, Outdoor Volleyball, Lawn Games, Outdoor Basketball, music and more), Fire Pit area
7:30 p.m.: Evening programming, Mont Alto Hall
Sunday, August 24
Registration Deadline
The Mill is open normal hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Returning student residence hall check in, Mont Alto Hall and Penn Gate
11:30 a.m.: Brunch Bingo/ Special Olympics North American Golf Tournament Support in the Mill
12:30 p.m.: Walmart van trips, depart from MAH and Penn Gate
1 p.m.: Alumni Soccer match, Soccer Field
2:30 to 4 p.m.: Axe Throwing and Woodsmen events, Lion Shrine Pit
8 p.m.: Res Hall Relax Evening programming, Mont Alto Hall (Games with Res Life Video, Board and Card Games, Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, MAH Parking Lot/Lobby)
Monday, August 25
Classes Begin
The Mill is open normal hours from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Open House at the Academic Support Center all week, August 25-29
Music, Munchies and Make Your Own Street Signs, Quad Tent
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Make Your Own Street Signs
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Munchies
Noon to 1:30 p.m.: Penn State Ice Cream Cart traveling around campus
9:30 p.m.: Individual Floor Meetings for all Residential Students
Tuesday, August 26
The Mill is open normal hours from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
11 a.m. to Noon: Lemonade Cart, Sci-Tech Sidewalk – between WSC and Sci-Tech
Noon to 3 p.m.: Wellness House Open House highlighting Counseling Services and Health Services
2 to 3 p.m.: Lemonade Cart, Wellness House
5 p.m.: Penn State Mont Alto Women’s Soccer Scrimmage
4:30 to 9:00 p.m.: Special Olympics North America Golf Championship Tailgate at Penn State Mont Alto (Please complete the online form Special Olympics - Student Volunteers to indicate you will attend/help with the tailgate. NOTE: There are ongoing volunteer needs for the Special Olympics August 25-28; On the form, please indicate any additional ways you may be interested in serving throughout the week.)

The Mill is open normal hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
12:20 p.m.: New Student Check-in Session for Late arrivals, new students from a distance and international students, Heritage Room in The Mill
4:30 p.m.: Hagerstown Flying Boxcars Baseball Game and Fireworks, Hagerstown, MD (Transportation departs Mont Alto at 4:30 p.m.; Game begins at 6:30 p.m. To register, email [email protected] by August 27)
