New Student Orientation at Penn State Mont Alto

Congratulations, you're a true blue-and-white Penn Stater. Thank you for joining the Penn State Mont Alto campus community. Whether you’re completing your degree at Mont Alto or getting your start here as part of Penn State’s 2+2 program, we’re here to support you and help you achieve your academic goals.

And it all starts with New Student Orientation. During NSO, you’ll meet with students, faculty, and staff, learn more about campus resources, schedule courses for your first semester, and become familiar with campus (that’ll help on the first day of classes). All new Penn State students must complete NSO before registering for courses.

Spring NSO begins on Tuesday, January 2. Our virtual program will be as follows…

  1. University Welcome and Campus Meeting (Virtual)

  1. Canvas Modules and Course Planning Guide (Virtual)

  1. Advising Dates* (Zoom): Jan. 3, 4, 5 . This is when you will meet with a New Student Orientation adviser to schedule your spring classes.

Please note that international students will also automatically be scheduled for the January 2 session.

To help students complete the orientation steps on time, an NSO Tasklist will be available for each student who is starting in the spring 2024 semester. You will receive a notification sent to the email address provided on your admissions application when you have access. There will also be an access link located on this webpage. You will use your Penn State account (e.g., abc5123) to access this Tasklist.

Students are also invited to attend an on-campus lunch and welcome session on January 8 at 12:20 p.m. in the Heritage Room in The Mill Café. You will have an opportunity to meet our Chancellor, faculty and staff, and some of your fellow students.

Reservations for NSO are open. In the event of inclement weather or program changes, the Orientation Planning Committee will reach out to impacted students and departments.

We are looking forward to meeting you!
