I’m an orientation leader, and I was pretty tired from moving people in. It was pretty hot, with little bursts of heavy rain. It actually made it 10 times more fun. As soon as I got here, everybody was really welcoming. I felt like it was going to be my home within seconds. It was only when my parents left that I felt the lingering feelings of sadness. I’m on the soccer team, so I had to move in a couple days early. I ended up helping the other freshmen settle in. Last year, when I was a freshman, I had a lot of stuff to move, but with people helping us, it made things go by a lot faster. First-year student Bryce Bartolacci from Wind Gap, Pa.―I love it here. It’s a little weird being on your own, but you get used to it. The realization of actually going to college finaly set in when I walked in. It was like, Dang, this is going to be weird. And then my parents left and I was like, Now what? I’ve got to make sure I stay on top of things, because my mom used to yell at me all the time to do stuff. Now I have to yell at myself to do it.
