Penn State Mont Alto to host LION Tank competition

The Mont Alto LaunchBox will host its second annual micro-grant pitch competition, LION Tank, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on March 15 in the General Studies Building auditorium on Penn State Mont Alto campus. The event, sponsored by the Patriot Federal Credit Union in Chambersburg, is open to the public and free of charge. Registered audience members are eligible to win prizes.

Student food insecurity has been an increasing concern on the Mont Alto Campus for some time. Staff and faculty have related stories of students coming to class inquiring about available free snacks because they did not or could not eat breakfast or lunch.

Penn State Mont Alto is currently taking applications for its 14th annual MedCamp, which provides incoming ninth- and 10th-graders opportunities to learn about careers in health care and medical fields.

Penn State Mont Alto sent four dancers and 50 supporters to participate in THON Weekend, Feb. 15-17, in the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. During the event, it was announced that the Penn State Mont Alto Benefiting THON organization raised $43,507.26 to fight pediatric cancer.
