Occupational Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapist Assistants can earn a hybrid or online bachelor's degree from Penn State Mont Alto in one year.
If you are an occupational therapy assistant or physical therapist assistant graduate who wants to further explore the science of everyday living – this program is for you. The focus of the occupational science major is to engage the student in an active and informed understanding of the therapeutic value of engaging in meaningful occupation. Students will develop occupation-focused critical and justice informed reasoning related to meeting societal needs of individuals, groups, and communities. The degree is designed to prepare associate graduates in occupational and physical therapy for careers and/or graduate study in health science related fields.
All occupational science courses will be completed online via a/synchronous format designed with the working adult in mind. Students can decide to take general education courses at the Mont Alto campus, hybrid format or on-line. Additionally, the university is awaiting final accreditation for a Masters of Occupational Therapy (MOT). Slated for a 2025 enrollment, full details on the MOT will be forthcoming in spring 2024.
