Occupational Science is a blend of courses from a wide array of disciplines. It is designed to prepare the occupational therapy and physical therapist assistant in further establishing their professional goals and pathway.
The Occupational Science major affords you to take the learning, experience, and credits gained as an assistant and build upon them with a host of courses in occupational science, sociology, arts, humanities, and evidence-based practice. The degree affords students flexibility to select courses that fit their personal and professional goals. Together with your faculty mentor and academic adviser, you will design a curriculum that is a balance of your professional goals in gaining a better understanding of occupational science.

Scheduling Your Classes
The process for scheduling courses will look different for each occupational therapy or physical therapist associate graduate; therefore, you will work closely with your academic adviser to design a semester-by-semester course schedule.

Transfer students
First and foremost, all your OTA or PTA associate degree credits will transfer into Penn State and go toward the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science degree. Additional courses you have taken at another institutions(s) may also apply toward the degree; therefore, you will work closely with an adviser to know exactly how courses from another institution will apply to the Occupational Science degree at Penn State Mont Alto.
