The Penn State Mont Alto Honors program offers academically gifted students opportunities to enrich and broaden their educational experiences through honors coursework and extra-curricular activities.
Students enrolled in the program will take a one-credit honors seminar each semester and may select from various honors courses, honors options, independent study, and research programs. At the beginning of each academic semester, students work closely with an academic adviser and an honors coordinator to develop individualized academic plans.
Out-of-classroom activities might include visiting major U.S. museums, traveling abroad, participating in regional debate contests, developing community service projects, coordinating campus lectures, and attending cultural events. Additionally, honors students are eligible for honors program scholarships and awards.
