The Nittany Lion Shrine basks in the early morning sunlight on a crisp, autumn day. The shrine, cut from a 13-ton block of limestone by Heinz Warneke and Joseph Garatti, was dedicated in October of 1942 and celebrated it's 77th birthday Oct. 24.
Take the plunge ‘For the Kids!’ On Dec. 8, the Franklin County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and Mont Alto Alumni Society will host its second annual Polar Plunge in support of the Penn State Mont Alto THON group. It starts at noon at the Cowans Gap Lake Beach area, 6235 Aughwick Road, Ft. Loudon, Pa.
On Dec. 8, the Franklin County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association in partnership with the Mont Alto Alumni Society will host the second annual Polar Plunge, which supports fundraising efforts for the student-run Penn State Mont Alto THON group.
The second Penn State Mont Alto Colloquy Series talk of the fall semester will be presented by Lecturer in Economics Mazhar Awan on Oct. 9. Titled “Is this Economy too Good to be True? What Economics has to Say About our Current State.” It is open to the public and free of charge.
