Entrepreneurs across the University will pitch their business ideas and create inventive solutions to common problems through a series of competitions and challenges held during Penn State Startup Week from April 1-5. The challenges are at the heart of Startup Week’s mission of teaching and inspiring participants to make innovation a part of their lives, communities and careers, either by starting their own companies or bringing a problem-solving approach to established organizations.
Mont Alto Launch Startup Week workshop panelists are Kathyrn Gratton, SCORE certified small business mentor and Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro (AAGW) executive director; Kristen Laidig, author, entrepreneur, and owner of InterACT, LLC, parent company to Chambersburg’s Toy Box Gifts & Wonder and Nerdvana Outpost; and Mike Unruh, SBDC executive director.
Cheryl Young, Shippensburg Small Business Development Center business consultant, will present "Putting together a business plan" from 6-7 p.m. March 28 at the Mont Alto LaunchBox.
The Mont Alto LaunchBox is offering free workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs on and off campus this spring. They are open to the public and free of charge. Participants are encouraged to register at montalto.psu.edu/launchbox/workshops.

The top two pitches considered to be most viable received grants of $1,000 and $1,500 along with a year's access to the Mont Alto LaunchBox and additional services to help get their products into the marketplace.
