Academic Festival celebrates students’ best work

On April 20, Penn State Mont Alto students will display and present their best academic and artistic work during the 13th annual Penn State Mont Alto Academic Festival from noon to 3 p.m. in the Multipurpose Activities Center (MA­­C). An awards ceremony will be held in the General Studies Building auditorium at 3:45 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Students receive hands-on trauma training

Penn State Mont Alto will hold its annual trauma-scenario training exercise for forest technology and nursing students from 8 a.m. to noon on April 19 at the campus. During the event, students will collaborate with multiple agencies to rescue two injured foresters who have been in a tree harvesting accident — one will be a mobile, high-fidelity human simulation patient named i-Stan.

Mont Alto theater students to perform puppet show

On April 13, Penn State Mont Alto theater students will perform a puppet show about recycling and a creative drama on sharing beginning at 3 p.m. at the Waynesboro YMCA located at 80 East Main Street in Waynesboro. About 60 children, ages 3 to 5 years old will attend the performance.

The Mont Alto LaunchBox, a business incubator funded by a seed grant from Penn State’s Invent Penn State initiative, will offer a free workshop titled “Choosing an Appropriate Business Form,” for aspiring entrepreneurs from 6 to 7 p.m. April 26 at 40 North Second Street in Chambersburg.

Spring concert features music from the stage and screen

The Penn State Mont Alto Chorale will perform "Music from the Stage and Screen" during its spring concert beginning at 7 p.m. April 29 in the General Studies Auditorium under the direction of music instructor J. Frederick Davison. It is open to the public and free of charge.
