MONT ALTO, Pa. ― The application deadline to compete in the Mont Alto LaunchBox LION Tank competition is extended to Feb. 28, 2019. Individuals with business startup ideas are invited to participate in the event on March 15, to be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the General Studies Auditorium on campus. The winning and runner-up prizes are $1,500 and $1,000, respectively.
A panel of business experts will select up to five competitors to pitch their ideas during the “shark-tank-like” event. Those selected will be assigned a mentor to help compete with their pitches. Projects that can lead to the eventual establishment of a startup by individuals or a group will have high consideration. The startup may anticipate providing a service or introducing a new product into the marketplace. It can be either nonprofit or for profit.
