Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a highly immersive week of service projects, leadership-building and relationship-building. It gives college students the chance to make an impact on the lives of others and learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing different communities.
ASB strives to inspire and educate a diverse group of Penn State students through service and reflection in order to promote personal growth and active citizenship.
Opportunities
In 2020, Penn State Mont Alto is providing two different Alternative Spring Break experiences: Montréal and Pittsburgh. While one is out of the country and one is in-state, both trips will allow participating students to broaden their horizons.
When / how do students need to apply?
The application deadline for ASB 2020 is Friday, December 13, at 5 p.m. Applications are available in Campus Life, Conklin 207.
When do students receive notification if they are selected to participate?
Students will receive notification during the first week of classes in January 2020. If a student is not selected, the $50 application fee is refunded. If a student opts to withdraw from the process, the application fees are not refundable.
