Description
This award will be presented annually to a current student-athlete from a men’s team and a current student-athlete from a women’s team who has distinguished themselves throughout their Penn State Mont Alto careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic prowess, and leadership. Student-athletes deserving of this award should also exemplify Marty Ogle’s qualities of caring, leadership, and competitiveness.
Award
- Framed Certificate
- Engraved plaques to be displayed on campus honoring these and subsequent winners
- Two awards will be given: one to a student-athlete from a men’s team and one to a student-athlete from a women’s team
Eligibility
- Nominee must participate on an intercollegiate varsity team during the current academic year
- Nominee must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Proven athletic prowess (e.g. school records/team records/conference records, honors/recognitions, named to all-conference teams/all-american teams, etc.)
- Nominee much exhibit the following characteristics: caring, leadership, and competitiveness
- No disciplinary record
Criteria for Judging
- Confirm participation on an intercollegiate varsity team during the current academic year
- Confirm academic eligibility for the award
- Confirm no disciplinary record
- Consider academic achievements and honors
- Consider athletic achievements and honors
- Consider leadership positions
- Demonstrates characteristics (caring, leadership, and competitiveness) per examples provided on the nomination form
