On April 20, Penn State Mont Alto students will display and present their best academic and artistic work during the 13th annual Penn State Mont Alto Academic Festival from noon to 3 p.m. in the Multipurpose Activities Center (MAC). An awards ceremony will be held in the General Studies Building auditorium at 3:45 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
Penn State Mont Alto honored students and faculty members achieving academic and teaching excellence during the annual Academic Awards Ceremony in the Multipurpose Activities Center (MAC) on April 8.
Penn State Mont Alto is currently taking registrations for its annual STEM Camp, which provides incoming ninth and 10th graders opportunities to learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on activities facilitated by University faculty.

A Campus Symposium entitled “Why Are We so Divided?” kicked off Penn State Mont Alto’s Unity Week on Monday, March 19, at noon with a discussion about what divides us as a nation and how we can work together to overcome it. Unity Week, Mach 19-23, supports Penn State’s ‘All In’ principles and offers a wide array of activities meant to inspire everyone to take an active role in promoting respect and embracing diversity.
Penn State Mont Alto’s General Studies Auditorium had a packed house on Friday evening, March 16, when five competitors went head-to-head during the Mont Alto LaunchBox Inaugural LION Tank Competition.
The Mont Alto LaunchBox, a business incubator funded by a seed grant from Penn State’s Invent Penn State initiative, will offer a free workshop entitled “Putting together a business plan” for aspiring entrepreneurs on March 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. at 40 North Second Street in Chambersburg. Cheryl Young, a business consultant with the Shippensburg Small Business Development Corp. (SBDC), will present the workshop.
