On May 25, the Questers of the Falling Spring Chapter dedicated the restored Emmanuel Chapel cross to the Mont Alto Campus. Also presented were some historical items uncovered through the project’s research, which includes a Holy Bible, once belonging to the Emmanuel Chapel; and the photo and bust of Bishop Potter. The bust was originally donated to the Chapel 100 years to the day, on May 25, 1918.

Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer and President Robert "Bob" J. Fignar, Penn State class of 1985, The First Community Bank of Mercersburg has established a new scholarship for Penn State Mont Alto students with financial need. Through the Open Doors Scholarship Program, First Community Bank’s gift of $30,000 will earn a 2:1 match, creating a $90,000 scholarship endowment to support Mont Alto students.

Penn State Mont Alto honored 129 graduating students May 5 during its spring 2018 commencement ceremony. Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera gave the commencement address urging graduates to do what they love.

Chancellor Francis K. Achampong thanked and recognized Penn State Mont Alto faculty and staff for their hard work and dedication on May 4 during the annual End-of-Year Luncheon and Awards Ceremony in the Multipurpose Activities Center (MAC).

During the 2018 spring term, Penn State Mont Alto students majoring in information science and technology (IST) and health policy and administration (HPA) collaborated to develop user-friendly systems for health care organizations. Through a joint project, they not only deepened their knowledge in their respective fields but also learned how to communicate their ideas more effectively, to think creatively, and to work collaboratively.
