It’s no secret that Penn State includes a network of campuses throughout the state of Pennsylvania, but incoming students may not be fully aware of all the financial benefits attending a campus other than University Park may afford.
On March 31, Penn State Mont Alto’s Nittany Lion Reads program, which promotes reading at local schools, visited the Scotland Elementary School in Chambersburg.
Penn State Mont Alto occupational therapy assistant students are not only engaging 4-year-old Kamdyn Hartung through their studies, they are also assisting with The Gala for Hope for Kamdyn’s Kure, an event to be held in his honor April 7 at the Green Grove Gardens in Greencastle.

Penn State Mont Alto is currently taking registrations for its annual STEM Camp which provides incoming ninth – and 10th-graders opportunities to learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on activities facilitated by university faculty.
“Sonita,” the 2016 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury winner, tells the story of a teenage refugee from Afghanistan who dreams of being a rapper, but instead is promised in matrimony to help support her family. The film will be shown as part of the “Docunight: Iran via Documentaries” series at 7 p.m. on April 5.
The Broto Roy Quartet ― a group that mixes traditional Indian rhythms and Indian singing with elements of modern jazz and rock ― will perform at Penn State Mont Alto from 5 to 6 p.m. April 6 in the General Studies Auditorium. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Docunight, a monthly screening presenting films about, around, or in Iran, or made by Iranians, will begin be held on the first Wednesday of every month during 2017. Library locations at University Park and Mont Alto will host the events on April 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1, and Dec. 6, with the films announced two weeks prior to the screening date.
