Applications for the Penn State Secondary Mathematics Noyce Scholarship Program must be submitted by Jan. 18, 2017. The competitive renewable scholarships will provide $19,000 per year for eligible students’ last two years of college.
Penn State Mont Alto's Student Appreciation Night on Nov. 29 included a tailgate with food and drinks, pep rally, and fun photo booth. Following the tailgate the campus community attended the women's and men's basketball competitions where pizza and giveaways were provided.
Sixteen faculty members representing various campuses, colleges, and General Education areas at Penn State, have been named General Education Faculty Fellows. The General Education Faculty Fellows Program is a new initiative of the recently created Office for General Education.
The Penn State Mont Alto Student Chorale will perform “Never a Brighter Star” this December during two holiday concerts under the direction of Frederick Davison, instructor in music, arts and humanities. The music features a unique blend of traditional sacred and secular holiday choral favorites.
On, Nov. 29, Penn State Mont Alto will participate in #GivingTuesday, a national day that celebrates the power of giving back. All online gifts made to Mont Alto at giveto.psu.edu/givingtuesday will support its 12 varsity sports and be matched dollar-for-dollar.
Penn State Mont Alto will host its final fall 2016 Colloquy Series session on Nov. 16 when Steve Holoviak, professor of business management presents, “Can the United States Maintain Its Consumer-based Economy in the Face of the Severe Decline in the Middle Class?” The event will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. in the Heritage Room of The Millstream Café.
About 50 members of the Penn State Mont Alto community and friends gathered today (Nov. 11) at the Veterans’ Memorial near Conklin Hall to honor and thank those who have served in the United States armed forces.
On Nov. 12, Third Child Productions and the Open Keg Film Project will hold auditions for “A Host of Sparrows ― an independent film that will be shot in south-central Pennsylvania during April and May. Auditions will be held from noon to 4 p.m. in the General Studies Building auditorium on the Mont Alto campus.
Students who need clothes for an interview, career fair or professional event can peruse donated business attire, try on the items, and keep them free of charge during Penn State Mont Alto’s Career Closet during the afternoons of Nov. 1 to 3 in the Wiestling Hall Student Center.
